Manchester band James, Fatboy Slim and Amy Macdonald will headline the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in 2027. The festival returns to the Belladrum Estate near Inverness from 29 to 31 July, and tickets are already on sale.
The three-day event runs from Thursday to Saturday. James will open the weekend as Thursday’s headliners. The indie band had been due to top the bill in 2026 but pulled out, and Razorlight took their slot, so next summer’s booking marks a return for them. Fatboy Slim, the DJ Norman Cook, will headline on the Friday in what will be his first Highlands show since RockNess, the festival on the banks of Loch Ness, 14 years ago. Scottish singer Amy Macdonald closes the festival on the Saturday, 20 years after she first played Belladrum. Her return gives the 2027 bill a home-grown finale, while James and Fatboy Slim bring two big names from England.
Organisers say more than 300 further acts will be announced in the coming weeks and months. This year’s line-up was headed by Razorlight, The Human League and Callum Beattie, with Mika, Kula Shaker and Scouting For Girls also on the bill. Belladrum has a long record of booking well-known acts. Over the years the festival has hosted The Waterboys, Idlewild, Edwyn Collins, Ed Sheeran, Texas, Deacon Blue, Ocean Colour Scene, Madness, The Pretenders and Franz Ferdinand.
Belladrum began in 2004 with around 2,000 people and has grown roughly tenfold since then, making it one of the largest festivals in the north of Scotland. In the words of The Scotsman’s report, “It now attracts around 20,000 music fans each year”. The site is about 20 minutes’ drive from Inverness on the A833, and the event mixes big-name headliners with Scottish acts across several stages. Camping is included with the full adult weekend ticket.
Ticket prices for the 2027 weekend have already been set. A three-day adult ticket with camping costs £253. Youth tickets for 13 to 17 year olds are £220, and children aged three to 12 pay £27.50. Babies go free but still need a ticket to get in. Tickets are sold through Gigantic. With three headliners confirmed and more than 300 acts still to come, the rest of the 2027 programme will be revealed in stages over the coming months.
