Levoit Adds a Pet Focused Model to Its Air Purifier Range

Levoit, a maker of home air treatment devices, has introduced the Vital Pet Pro, an air purifier built for households with cats and dogs. The unit sells for 189.99 dollars and targets the fur, dander and lingering smells that pets leave behind. The company is pitching it at renters and owners of smaller homes who want to clear the air without a bulky or complicated machine taking up floor space in a living room.

The purifier uses a three stage filtration system. A washable pre filter catches larger particles, a main filter handles finer ones, and an activated carbon layer holding 140 grams of carbon works on odours. A U shaped air inlet is designed to pull in airborne pet hair before it settles on furniture and floors. Levoit says the arrangement can remove up to 70 percent of odours within an hour of running in a typical room.

Several features aim to cut the upkeep that pet owners face. An automatic cleaning function sweeps trapped hair and debris into a removable tray, reducing how often the filters need attention. Instead of a numerical air quality readout, the device shows colours that shift from red through orange, green and cyan as the air clears. Operating modes include an Auto Plus setting, a dedicated Pet Mode and a quieter Sleep Mode, all controllable from a smartphone app.

An early review found the design effective in day to day use. The purifier was “impressively effective at collecting fur and trapping the kind of debris that would normally end up floating around,” reviewer Lauren Forristal wrote. The colour coded display drew a more mixed response, since some buyers may prefer the precise particulate numbers that rival machines report rather than a simpler traffic light system that only hints at how clean the air is.

The Vital Pet Pro is on sale through Levoit’s own website as well as Amazon, the pet retailer Chewy and other outlets. Air purifiers aimed specifically at pet owners have become a growing niche as more households keep animals and spend on products to manage them. Levoit’s entry competes on price and low maintenance rather than the advanced features found in the more expensive smart home systems sold by rival brands.
