As the son of immigrants, Dr. Bose grew up understanding the value of education and the privilege of opportunity. His journey to medicine and military service was driven by a deep desire to give back.
That purpose crystallized during his deployment to Iraq, where he served one of the longest combat tours by a physician since World War II. Amid the chaos of war, he became known for his composure under pressure and his commitment to saving lives in the harshest conditions. Most notably, he was the U.S. military physician who treated Saddam Hussein after his capture—a moment of historical significance and immense responsibility.

Dr. Bose brought his battlefield mindset to the American healthcare system. Rather than choosing the comfort of large city hospitals, he partnered with Medical Center Health System and Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Texas—regions covering some of the largest and most medically underserved areas in the U.S.
In Odessa, he has built more than a medical practice. He has helped foster a culture of innovation and emergency readiness that prepares rural communities for the worst while providing quality care every day.
His latest project, Desert Doc, gives viewers an unfiltered look into real-life emergency care in rural Texas. From life-threatening traumas to community medicine, the show aims to educate, inspire, and call attention to the healthcare inequities often overlooked in national conversations.
