Scotland-based UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has confirmed a wave of internal promotions, elevating five lawyers to Partner and two to Legal Director, effective 1 May. The appointments span the firm’s Commercial Real Estate, Corporate, Technology, Rural, and Commercial Disputes practices.
Joining the partnership are Matt Lamberton and Gillian Wood from Commercial Real Estate, Cath Macrae from Corporate, Katie McNab from Rural Property, and Laura McMillan from Commercial Disputes. Rising to Legal Director are Siobhan Dunphy in Commercial Real Estate and Joseph Fitzgibbon in Media and Technology.
The announcement coincides with the first day in office for the firm’s incoming Managing Partner, Andy Hall. Hall’s career at the firm spans more than three decades, having started as a trainee solicitor in 1993 before making partner in 2003. Since 2013, he has headed up the firm’s Property and Infrastructure group.
Commenting on the promotions, Hall said the round reflected the depth of talent within the firm. He noted particular satisfaction that four of the seven individuals promoted had trained at Shepherd and Wedderburn from the outset, calling it evidence of the firm’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent, supporting long-term career growth, and building lasting client relationships.
