Aon has brought in Andy Hall, previously head of corporate banking for central Scotland at Barclays, as an ambassador for its commercial risk business north of the border.
Hall spent more than 30 years in senior banking roles before making the move. At Aon he will sit alongside the firm’s Scottish leadership team, opening doors to senior business figures and steering conversations towards enterprise risk, resilience, workforce questions and cyber exposure.
He said he wanted a role where he could keep backing Scottish companies without the demands of executive leadership, after close to four decades in corporate banking.
Pulling the right people into a room to work through a difficult problem was always the part of the job he enjoyed most, Hall said, and that is where he sees the overlap with how Aon operates. He pointed to a tougher set of pressures on company leaders now, naming cyber and people risk alongside supply chain disruption and geopolitical uncertainty as the issues that keep coming up.
Hall reports to Gavin Carson, Aon’s regional managing director for Scotland.
