Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Sell Out in 42 Minutes Despite Record £408 Price

glastonbury 2027 tickets sell out record price

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 sold out in 42 minutes on Sunday morning, even though the price has gone above £400 for the first time. The festival returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 23 to 27 June after taking a fallow year in 2026.

The general sale opened at 09:00 BST, and shortly after 09:40 organisers announced on Instagram that every ticket had gone, apologising to those who missed out on a morning when demand far exceeded supply. Coach packages had gone on sale the previous Thursday and sold out in less than half an hour. Any cancelled or returned tickets will be offered in a resale in spring 2027.

A weekend ticket now costs £408, including a £5 booking fee, an increase of £29.50 on the last festival in 2025. The price has more than doubled since 2010, when a ticket cost £185, and most of the rise has come since the pandemic, from £318 in 2019. Tickets from this sale that are not paid for in full by the early April 2027 deadline will go back into the official resale pool, which has usually opened in late April.

Several buyers said the process felt fairer than before. Dave, from London, who was in several groups trying for tickets, said the old tricks seemed to make less difference and that about a quarter of the people in his groups had been successful. Zoe Scott, who has been to the festival twice, said “the price is totally worth it”, pointing to the 100-plus stages on site. Others were less fortunate, among them Mat Chapman, who had hoped to finally get his daughter Amy a ticket on her 26th birthday after 20 years of trying.

Headliners have not been announced. Organiser Emily Eavis has said the team is very excited and that plans are coming together well, and she has dismissed rumours that Madonna will top the bill. Among those already planning their return are Nick and Helen Nugget from Amersham, who met through friends at a very muddy Glastonbury in 2007 and will mark their 20th wedding anniversary at Worthy Farm next June.
