In the U.S., federal initiatives aim to install 500,000 public charging stations by 2030, while China’s subsidies have made EVs more affordable than traditional vehicles in many provinces. These developments signal a structural change in how societies approach mobility.

Despite rapid industry growth, educational systems have struggled to keep pace. Conventional automotive engineering programs often lack specialized training in EV systems, leaving graduates unprepared for emerging roles. “The industry needs professionals who understand both the technical and conceptual aspects of EVs,” Kaur explains. “Our program teaches students how these vehicles function at a fundamental level, from energy storage to software integration.“

Avoiding heavy mathematical requirements, the program attracts students from diverse academic backgrounds, including business and environmental science. Partnerships with automakers like Tesla and BYD provide students with hands-on workshops, allowing them to work directly with cutting-edge technology. This practical exposure ensures graduates enter the job market with relevant, immediately applicable skills.

Graduates are equipped to fill roles ranging from EV maintenance technicians to sustainability consultants. With automakers pledging to phase out internal combustion engines by 2035, demand for these skills will only intensify.
“Our alumni are joining an industry, leading a global movement,” Kaur notes. “Every graduate represents a step toward cleaner air, quieter cities, and reduced reliance on fossil fuels.“
