BSI has announced a new partnership with Coursera to expand access to digital professional learning for individuals and organizations around the world.
The partnership will bring BSI’s expertise in assurance, risk, compliance, and professional standards to Coursera’s global learning platform through a new portfolio of modular, on-demand courses. The initial launch is expected to include short-form learning modules designed to help professionals build practical knowledge in key areas such as AI governance, occupational health and safety, and food safety management.
The new offering is designed to support flexible learning for busy professionals. Many of the modules will be under one hour and will include supporting resources and call-to-action pathways for additional on-demand and instructor-led learning from BSI.
The partnership is part of BSI’s broader effort to make professional development more accessible while extending the reach of its training services to a wider international audience. It also aligns with the organization’s focus on helping businesses and professionals respond to changing market demands, including the growing need for skills in AI, governance, risk, and compliance.
“Through this partnership with Coursera, we are making it easier for learners around the world to access professional training in areas that are becoming increasingly important across industries,” said Melinda Hervey of BSI. “Our goal is to provide flexible, high-quality learning that supports both individual development and organizational capability.”
The initial priorities for 2026 include specializations in Occupational Health and Safety Management with ISO 45001, AI Governance and ISO 42001 Readiness, Food Safety Management, Awareness and Quality Assurance, and AI Technical Risk Controls Validation.
BSI said the new courses are intended to support a wide audience, including professionals working in assurance, risk, compliance, and digital upskilling, as well as organizations, educational institutions, and government learning initiatives seeking scalable workforce development options.
The launch also supports BSI’s wider digital learning strategy, which focuses on modular delivery, global accessibility, and skills development in areas where organizations are facing increased regulatory, operational, and technical demands.
“This partnership allows us to extend BSI’s learning offer through a platform with broad global reach,” Hervey said. “It gives learners access to practical content in areas such as AI, safety, and compliance, while also helping organizations build workforce readiness through flexible and accessible training.”
The Coursera partnership comes as BSI marks its 125th year. The organization says the initiative reflects its continued focus on supporting trust, competence, and improvement across industries through standards-based learning and professional development.
Course availability, landing pages, and supporting promotional materials are expected to roll out in line with the partnership launch. The announcement will be supported by digital assets including course pages, social content, and related communications materials.About BSI
